Gracyn Doctor is a Report for America corps member covering race and equity at WFAE. Prior to this beat, she was a part of the “High Cost of COVID-19” team covering the impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. Gracyn’s a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University and S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where she studied arts journalism. While at Syracuse, Gracyn interned at WAER 88.3 FM, Syracuse’s NPR member station, covering the health and wellness of marginalized communities in Central New York.
Gracyn was born and raised in Charleston, SC, but now lives in Charlotte with her sassy but super sweet whippet Cookie.
